TVXQ talks about their preferred fashion styles and ideal types

 

The October 22nd episode of On Style‘s ‘Fashion Magazine‘ sat down with TVXQ to talk about the boys’ favorite fashion styles and ideal types.

When asked to describe what their normal style is like, Changmin replied, “I try to wear clothing that makes me look thin and long. My essential fashion items are backpacks and fedoras.” As for pants, Changmin revealed that he preferred skinny jeans or pants slightly rolled up above the feet.

In contrast, Yunho chose, “I like taking standard styles and adding a point with accessories like big watches. I’m currently collecting big framed watches.”

When asked what their ideal style on women was, Changmin revealed, “I love Anne Hathaway‘s style in the movie, ‘The Devil Wears Prada‘. I thought everything she wore in the movie was pretty.”

The reporter asked, “Don’t you think it’s because her face was pretty?”, leading Changmin to honestly answer, “Well, I guess you can’t leave that out either.”

Asked to choose a Korean ideal type amongst the actresses, Changmin stated, “I’ll go with Kang Sora-ssi, who recently made her movie debut through ‘Sunny‘.”

JYJ interviewed regarding ‘In Heaven’, ‘PSM’ and Yunho and Changmin!

 

On September 30th, the members of JYJ met up with reporters for their “In Heaven” press conference at a cafe in Jungdong, Seoul.  In a heartfelt interview, the men answered questions regarding TVXQ, their recent controversy with ‘PSM‘, and their hopes for the future.

Jaejoong began,

“First of all, this album is one that contains all of our memories and feelings over the course of the past two years.  It’s an album that has a lot of scents in it.  There are tracks that convey our honest feelings, as well as tracks that beat around the bush in expressing ourselves.  No matter how much we beat around the bush, though, those that have been with us through it all will know what to imagine while listening to these songs while the regular public will just listen to the song for what it is.  It’s an album with a passcode.  Like I stated, it’s an album that contains everything we’ve felt and done over the past two years.”

Junsu continued, “I worked on the album by conversing a lot with the other members.  It’s an album that shows the true colors of JYJ.  I believe that we were able to create such a great result because we regarded as the production of it as a positive opportunity and experience.”

Jaejoong added, “The reason we started our individual activities was to get the name of JYJ out there.  Since the three of us cannot go out on music programs, we had no option but to get JYJ’s name known individually.”

Junsu stated,

“We began our careers as singers and I hope that we’ll continue to eternally walk down the path of a singer.  Because we’re restricted in so many areas as singers, we decided to take the performance route.  Even if it’s hard to see us on TV, we’re trying to work with our fans by performing at events and fan meetings, as well as other small events.  Our focus is on creating an environment where we can communicate with our fans and enjoy the performance aspect of it together.  A concert is not just a place where we show what we want to show, but a place where we can converse with them.”

When asked what ‘PSM’ meant in their song “Pierrot“, Jaejoong stated,

“It’s weird that a song that’s not even our title track is worthy of being in the media headlines for not passing regulations, but it’s actually quite heartbreaking.  SBS actually asked us what ‘PSM’ meant, meaning that they’ll give us a chance even if it wasn’t okay to pass.  KBS, however, didn’t even give us that chance and just interpreted it however they wanted to, completely ignoring the creator’s intent.  That is so frustrating.”

He continued,

“PSM stands for ‘Performer’, ‘Success’, and ‘Museum’.  Everyone has a future and everyone hopes that their life can shine.  In order to accomplish that, however, they must borrow the strength of others since it’s not possible on your own.  They’re then physically taken advantage of by a museum that creates that success for you and at times you’ll find yourself acting something that you don’t want to do.  It’s a song about people that use innocent people that are only innocently searching for hope.”

Jaejoong stated, “A lot of time has passed.  The time we’ve spent apart might have created misunderstandings, but as for us, a lot of that has passed.  I just hope for us to all meet again.  Yunho and Changmin appear in my dreams often.  Once, all three of us dreamt of them at once.”

He continued, “I still don’t keep in contact with Yunho and Changmin.  Please let us contact them.”

Jaejoong also revealed that he might have the opportunity to see Yunho.  “The lighting director for Yunho’s drama, ‘Poseidon‘, is also the lighting director for ‘Protect the Boss‘.  He once told me to come and visit during an after party.  I might be able to see him then.”

Yunho exits on 4th episode of ‘Poseidon’ + possibility of return later in the series

 

Yunho has been the star featured guest on the new KBS 2TV drama, ‘Poseidon‘, but he will be making his exit after the 4th episode.

This was Yunho’s first time taking up a role in a drama since 2009, and fans’ expectations were high for his ‘Poseidon’ character. Although he has reached the summit as a member of Changmin set the bar high performing his role in ‘Paradise Ranch‘, Yunho needed to step up his acting game.

Thanks to his good looks and action scenes, his acting received well reviews across the board. Fans wanted to see more of him after news of him exiting the show had broken out. They demanded that Yunho’s character be given more lines, as he was one of the main leads in the first few episodes. They wanted to know more of his story and background.

The staff hinted at a possibility of Yunho rejoining the cast later in the story. PD Ki Seung Mo stated, “There is a possibility of Yunho coming back on set. The drama is left flexible enough for him to possibly join us later on in the story.” Yunho’s character is a good mix of hot and cold and he is an essential character that may need to come back to tie the drama together in the end, they explained. Yunho’s character, Kang Eun Chul plays the role of a loyal officer who is linked with another main in the story and sacrifices himself to save Sunwoo (played by Choi Siwon).

Yunho’s character Kang Eun Chul is the head of the maritime police special forces unit, and in the 4th episode he suddenly leaves the country leaving behind many questions left to be answered.

TVXQ’s Yunho and partner Claudia withdraw from SBS’s ‘Kiss & Cry’

 

TVXQ’s Yunho has revealed that he and his partner, Claudia, will be voluntarily withdrawing from SBS’s ‘Kiss & Cry‘.

On August 2nd, PD Kim Jae Hyuk announced, “Due to Yunho’s busy schedule, he had no choice but to voluntarily leave the show.”

On the 3rd, SM Entertainment confirmed, “Despite working on his schedules overseas, Yunho showed his passion for the program by practicing whenever he could. His partner, Claudia, is also preparing as a backup national athlete for the ‘Junior Figure Grand Prix’ and hasn’t had the time to balance her schedule for the show. Thus, they’ve both decided to voluntarily withdraw from the show.”

Their performance last week will thus be their last performance together for the show. There is still a team to be eliminated, however, for the fifth match.

JYJ’s Jaejoong wants to see TVXQ’s Yunho and Changmin again

 

Recently, JYJ’s Jaejoong updated his Twitter with a post that is causing quite the commotion amongst fans of both JYJ and TVXQ.

He wrote,

“I don’t know if I should be saying this… I miss Yunho and Changmin… No matter what anyone says, they’re our members and I know them better than anyone else… People might say it’s pointless in saying this but… I want to see them again. It’s been a while.”

Jaejoong also tweeted the following:

“Junsu always wakes up before the members and gets his hair and make up done before the tired members. He has always been like that for the past eight years. It’s his sincerity that has allowed us to exist, and I hope to learn from him as a friend and co-worker.

There’s a lot to learn from him in a lifetime.”

“Yoochun is always in the middle. He stands in the middle of the members and watches over everyone, which is why we never have any time to feel that we’re alone. He’s one of the most spirited members and he shares that spirit with us so that we feel comfort during difficult times.”

“I have to do better.. That’s what our Junsu and Yoochun make me think. They’re greedy, hoo hoot!”

The 5 Worst Idol Star Actors rated by Arirang!

On June 28th, Arirang rated the top 5 idol stars who are known to be horrible actors on their ‘Pops in Seoul‘ program which has been stirring up some heated debates between fans.

The idol stars were rated mostly on their skills in expressing emotions (facial, tone), pronunciation, and how natural they looked while acting.

KARA’s Goo Hara was rated as the 5th worst on this list and the rest went something like this: SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong as number 4, miss A’s Suzy at number 3, TVXQ’s U-Know / Yunho at number 2, and finally, Davichi’s Kang Min Kyung was rated as the worst idol star actress.

The hostess of the segment, NS Yoon Ji (reading from a script) gave somewhat harsh criticism and feedback for each idol but ended the comment with praise such as, “Don’t worry Hyun Joong oppa, this actually means you’re even more charming“, and “Oh wait, I can hear all her uncle fans screaming, ‘it’s okay, because Suzy makes up for it with her beauty‘”.

Although a few admittedly agreed on the accuracy of the ratings, many fans were upset about the content and questioned if the degree of insult was needed. Check out the segment below!

TVXQ’s Yunho outstanding skating performance received numerous praises

On the 22^nd of May, the first episode of “Kim Yuna’s Kiss & Cry” was aired, featuring an intense competition between 10 stars that participated in this program and they are Kim Byung Man, Uknow Yunho, IU, Son Dambi, Lee Ah Hyun, Krystal, Seo Ji Suk, Park Jun-Keum, Lee Kyu-Hyuk and Jin Ji-Hee respectively. In this episode, Yunho displayed a different set of skating skills as compared to the other competitors, which surprised the staffs, audience as well as the judges.

On that day, Yunho did a “Homage to Michael Jackson” performance, and have brought out a perfect tribute stage for Michael Jackson together with the outfit that symbolizes Michael Jackson which includes a black suit, a hat and a pair of glittering gloves. In addition to the dance moves, the skills that Yunho performed have far exceeded the expectations. Although Yunho’s dancing ability is of no doubt, but to be able to dance excellently on the ice rink as well has definitely amazed the audience. After the performance, Yunho has won a standing ovation from the 100 audience who acts as the evaluation team.

Yunho started to learn skating two months ago and he expressed that “I’ve only skated once for all my life, that’s when I was in High School, but I stop skating after that because I kept falling”. However, Yunho started skating two months ago because of the show. Yunho mentioned that “It seems that I’ve went back to the time when I was still a rookie, ice skating is more difficult than I’ve imagined it to be, I’ve imagined myself doing the jumps and spins on the ice rink, but when I’m standing on the ice rink, I faced difficulties in each and every steps that I took”.

Actually, Yunho has practiced ice skating for quite a number of times, Changmin sent his encouragements for Yunho stating that “Yunho’s character is that once he decided to do accomplish something; he will make sure that he does it, so whatever he does, the outcome will be a great one”.

In addition, director Kim Jae Hyuk PD complimented that “Yunho has placed a lot of efforts into ice skating, he is a smart guy and works very hard as well. He has a hectic schedule and often has work scheduled till 12am, but he would practice skating at about 5am in the morning. His persevering and hard-working attitude makes him looks really attractive”.

Also, Kim’s Yuna Choreographer David Wilson praises Yunho as well. David Wilson is one of the judges for this show and has looked precisely at Yunho’s each and every moves throughout the performance, and after which, he commented that “Holy cow! You are the strongest skater in the group so far, like a Music Video, I meant you were in character, the bench, everything was tidy and all. Amazing! And you dance really well.” David Wilson then give Yunho a score of 8.7.

Other judges who include MC Kim Yuna, International Referee Go Sung Hee and Singer Kim Jang Hoon have given high scores to Yunho as well. They have given praises such as “This is a performance that is beyond my expectations, I’ve not expected to see jumps and spins, it’s really surprising”, “He has performed what I’ve expected for him, an amazing performance”, “Although the overall performance is great, his speed is the best”.

In the first episode, Yunho has received praises from the judges and regarding to this, he expressed that “I am really nervous, although there’s some part of the performance that I’m unhappy with, but I’ve placed in my best so I feel contented, I am really happy, till now that happiness is still staying with me!”
