FT Island Holds Fan Meeting in Tokyo

 

The star band FT Island held their official fan meeting entltled “Congratulations!” at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo for two days from March 19 to 20. The fan meeting was originally scheduled to be held last year in March, but it was postponed due to the great east Japan earthquake.

FT Island sang their new songs live including “Severely” and “Like Birds” that are included in their fourth mini album entitled “Grown Up”. When they held a talk show, a cake appeared to celebrate the birthdays of Lee Hong-gi and Choi Jong-hun, who were born in March, and Choi Min-hwan and Song Seung Hyun, who became adults this year. Their fans who filled the venue sang the celebratory birthday song together in the Korean language and gave an ovation.

Lee Jae-jin remarked about their Christmas live concert that was held at Yokohama Arena at the end of last year, “We held the concert at the largest concert hall ever, and we quite enjoyed our concert”. Choi Jong-hun remarked about their new single “Neverland”, which will be released on April 18, chosen as the opening song of the animation “Ozma”, which will be the special animation to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the broadcasting station WOWOW, “We could create the best music video ever. I am very happy that the song is involved in the popular animation”.

“Ozma”, which aired its first episode on March 16, is a work of Matsumoto Leiji, who is a popular animation producer with previous works including “Galaxy Express 999″ and “Space Battleship Yamato”. It has been drawing attention as it was the first time it was introduced to the public even though it was produced in the 1980s.

FT Island’s discourteous behavior forced MV filming to end early?

A complaint against F.T. Island for disrespectful behavior recently became a hot issue online.

On September 29th, the owner of a car that was borrowed for F.T. Island’s new music video shoot wrote a series of complaints about the members’ behavior and the way they treated his property. He eventually had to ask that they stop filming so that he could take his car and leave.

The man wrote, “After receiving notice that my car was wanted in F.T. Island’s music video, I rushed to the scene with a happy heart.  But once filming actually began, the singers climbed on top of the car and treated it however they wanted to, stepping on it and acting like it was some toy.”

He continued, “One member even asked me, ‘How much is this?, $50,000 USD?’, ‘It doesn’t seem like it costs much, let’s buy one too.’  Even if it’s just a used car that costs $50,000 USD, a car is special to its owner.  How could they get on top of the car and jump on it while the owner was watching like that?  I had to ask that they stop filming, took the car, and left.”

Director Kim Eun Yoo responded to the controversy on his Twitter by writing, “The members merely followed what was written in the script for the music video. We explained to the car’s owner that there was a scene where the members had to climb on to the top of the car and received his permission.  The next day, he asked for an additional fee to compensate for treating his car roughly.  Now that a picture from the scene has been leaked along with a post hating on the singers, we feel deeply disappointed.”

Super Junior, B2ST and more to hold a concert for the environment

An all-star roster of male Korean artists will be coming together for a concert with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)!

Super Junior, B2ST, F.T. ISLAND, Sung Shi Kyung, and Seo In Guk will team up for a concert called ‘Music Olympic The One 2011 Concert“, which will take place on September 30th at the Seoul Jamsil Olympic Stadium. Japanese artist AI, actor KABA, and Arthur Kuroda will also be in attendance at this event.

This event is to bring together music and the Olympics, and “The One” signifies that people should come together as one to protect the environment. This happens in Korea every four years so it is definitely an important opportunity to spread Hallyu. Next year, it will take place in Thailand.

There are two ways to win free tickets to this concert. You can win tickets via an iPhone application called “Scratch It (긁어부스럼)”. Also through the official website, fans can upload personal stories about protecting the environment and if your story is chosen, you will receive free tickets.
