Super Junior to hold ‘Super Show 4′ at Tokyo Dome with 100,000 fans

Super Junior will be taking the stage at the famous Tokyo Dome.

On May 12th and 13th, Super Junior will be making their ‘Super Show 4‘ world tour stop in Japan at the Tokyo Dome.

Last December, Super Junior rallied 80,000 audience members through their two concerts which was held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. Super Junior is planning to meet with 100,000 fans at their Tokyo Dome concerts.

Considering that Super Junior has not had any special promotions in Japan, being able to book a concert at the 100,000 capacity Tokyo Dome is a rather astounding accomplishment.

Super Junior last stood on the Tokyo Dome stage at the “SM TOWN Live Concert” last September. At that point, Super Junior made it a goal to take on the Tokyo Dome for their own solo concert. They have achieved their goal in a mere 4 months.

Meanwhile, Super Junior will be making stops in Taiwan (February 2-5) and Singapore (February 18 & 19) for their ‘Super Show 4′ world tour.

SM Entertainment, the label that’s home to major K-pop artists such as TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, and more will have their own SM Entertainment booth at ‘MIDEM 2012‘ in Cannes, France.

The Marché International du Disque et de l’Edition Musicale (MIDEM) is the largest music industry trade fair in the world, and has been taking place every year in France since 1967. The event brings together musicians, business people, and others from all over the world to “showcase new artists, musical trends and music-related products.”

This year, the ‘MIDEM 2012′ will be taking place in Cannes, France from January 28th to the 31st, and SM Entertainment will be holding their own booth to meet with internationally-acclaimed musicians.

SM Entertainment has been attending the MIDEM for the past 15 years studying the international music market, securing the copyrights of famous artists’ songs at the MIDEM, but this is the first time that SM Entertainment will be opening their own independent booth. In the past, they acquired music samples from Europe and the US, or joined with another corporation to open a joint-booth, slowly expanding their name and presence.

SM Entertainment is more determined than ever, and they’re prepared to make a break through in the international music market.

MIDEM representatives remarked, “SM Entertainment has been attending the MIDEM even before the MIDEM name carried any weight. Their efforts have paid off, as they’re now able to come independently and open their own booth.”

[INTERVIEW] Super Junior Winner of four Awards at Golden Disk

Super Junior has won four awards including Daesang. Tears were flowing as they were deeply moved. Their tears were tears of pride that they have confirmed themselves as 2011 Asia’s best group. With Newcomer award in 2006, Bonsang and Popularity Award in 2007, and Daesang in 2009, their Superman-like career path continued in 2012. The emotions did not subside even after the award show ended. We met with Super Junior who were hugging and sharing their deep emotions with each other.

- Your thoughts on winning Daesang.
“Our relationship with Golden Disk has been continuing since 2006. We’ve received Popularity Award consecutively and it’s our second time receiving Daesang. It’s more meaningful that we received Daesang in Osaka, Japan. In December of last year, we held our concert at the same venue. We were very touched back then. A month later, we made another memory that we will never forget. We are very thankful.” (Leeteuk)

- There were so many Japanese fans.
“The response was really great. I heard that Korean and Japanese fans voted until their fingerprints faded so that we could receive Popularity Award. It is surprising since we never held an official promotion in Japan. We’ll see them again soon with good news.” (Leeteuk)

- How was 2011?
“2011 was a very big year for Super Junior. We’ve received so much love. However, we won’t be satisfied with that. We won’t stop. We Super Junior will make another big happiness.” (Eunhyuk)

- Say a word to the other members who couldn’t come.
“We feel sad that they couldn’t be here with us. Once the award show is finished, we are thinking of calling them. We want to be together with the other members once they join us. We really miss you. We love you.” (Shindong)

- The person that comes to your mind at this moment.
“I think she would have been really happy if she saw it. I want to see my grandma who’s in heaven. I’m thankful and I love you.” (Choi Siwon)

- Are you confident that you can receive Daesang again in the next year’s Golden Disk Awards?
“We want to receive it. But some of the other members and I have to enter the army. I really want to attend the show. I have a request. Please send an official document to the army. I’ll come in my army uniform and salute.” (Leeteuk)

- Your goal for 2012 is.
“We had a good start. We started the year with Golden Disk Award. We think we’ll be able to come to Japan more often. We are going to repay all the love that we received from the world with bigger love.” (Donghae)

- Say a word to your fans.
“There are many fans that can’t be with us at this moment, but our fanclub E.L.F. gave us these four big awards. We will not be arrogant. You E.L.F. will be with us again in 2012, right?” (Leeteuk)
